Issue is PC makers always skimping on the displays.

Why we still use 1366x768 displays in 2013 on laptops when Tablets and even smartphones have higher resolution displays absolutely baffles me. rolleyes.gif I would have thought that by now 1600x900 would at least be the minimum with 1080p being the standard all IPS because TN has no place on a screen that you move around.

Who wanna invest in me to build a watercooled laptop with mITX mobo, i7, and desktop GPU?

If I were to actually build one, I'll place the radiator between the two handrests (below center of keyboard), and a fan will suck air downwards so you won't feel the heat.

etherway i approve of lightness though its still far from yesteryear but no to thinness. i do not want a ball roasting, performance throttling featureless crap. they go untouchable hot after a few hours of video playback

ulvs run respectably cool and are getting cooler all the time. if you can't stand it set in on the laptop case you should be using anyway.

as far as performance throttling and featureless? you think the average consumer needs more performance beyond a ulv and ssd to watch videos and open office docs?

For the 10 billionth time already, please stop posting these editorials in the industry NEWS sections. They do NOT belong there.

I would have been a billionaire by now if I had every penny for the number of times I have had to repeat this.

I guarantee you if they offer that 25% off to the consumer market (on every product) they wouldn't make a profit, and this would be worse with them dealing with higher volume of product.

Look at dell's stock market earning, if they flat out slashed 25% off the board in revenue they'd be in a BAD situation.

Edit: They need to pay the staff (like you biggrin.gif ) who work their, 25% off is just for morale and bonus (lucky you thumb.gif ).

They probably DO make a profit on parts alone but their expenses negate that.

It's similar to how people look at how phones cost a couple of hundred bucks are the same and people are like "WHY ARE THEY CHARGING 300% ON THEM?"

Custom laptop market exists, look in the pages of any PC gaming magazine you will see 230984203948 ads for custom computers.

Macbooks are just as buggy as anything else. My windows install went bad and I am stuck using MACOS because it's too much of a pain in my ass to go to the IT department. I dont know how many times copy paste has deleted crap, how unreliable the double finger click thing is, how often a greasy finger doesn't register, etc etc.

Yeah, it looks cool I suppose, but it's still a buggy PC now that apple doesn't source their own custom hardware anymore.
