So it would be quite suitable for OCing a i7 4770k to 4.4GHz?

I can deal with the whine and DOA if I have too, I would just return it within two weeks.

All caps are Nippon Chemi-Con and Rubycon so no crappy taiwanese and chinese caps in this one

As said its only flaw is it has problems staying within 80 plus gold rating at times

Just some tips:

Most of the time you should avoid making assumptions about a specific PSU from reviews of other models within the same platform.

The testing methodology is crucial when testing a PSU. For instance, in your post concerning the 680W Be quiet!, you can see that Jonnyguru's load distributions on the PSU rails where not the same as Hardwaresecrets'; at 100% load, the latter was heavier on the 12V rail while being easier on the remaining ones, which is most likely the reason behind the higher ripple measured - the one you pointed out - in that review.

Other then that nothing is really wrong with the G

@Shilka,

hey I got the G550. If you can tell me a way to measure the noise level I could test it and let you know whether my unit is chirping!
Right now I can't hear it over the wind turbine of the box cooler of my CPU, but I am planning to install a HR-02 this week (end) and hopefully should be able to hear it better.
Just wondering if there are some tricks, like turning off the cooler for 30secs or something?
