Thread Starter
system specs are in my sig. This happens in games it seems only. so far in Company of heroes and Hitman bloodmoney. Almost everytime i start playing, it would freeze and hiccup for like a few seconds and the sound would loop, but then sometimes it would happen very often as im playing, just reall annoying. any ideas what it could be

ive tried reinstalling vid drivers as well

I had that issue previously in HL2 games.

Backing off the OC elimintated, and...

Playing witht the RAM timings (loosening) also eliminated it.

...not saying that is what is up with you, merely that the symptoms sound very familiar.

I'm sorry that I can not recall the changes I made. But I believe that I left the OC alone, and loosened the RAM timings, though not all along the board, only some of the settings....

RAM play-time?

ram timings.. ok. i dont know if i can adjust those, all i can adjust is the ram multiplier which will change the ram freq, which is at 2 right now (2, 2.5, 2.66 etc) or something.

ok this is sort of back from the dead. i backed off of my OC , but the problem persisted. so i changed all the values to how they should be ( stock ) and the problem is still there. how can i loosen ram timings with my mobo? i dont see an option for that.

any other ideas

try setting all your settings to stock, and see if problems still occur.

on the bios main menu press Ctrl + F1, this will give you more options in some of the menus, thats how i access memory timing on my Gigabyte board.

Here is an image of an Asus BIOS. Ignore the specific values and note the names of the settings that they are attached to. Fish around in your BIOS for something similar (sorry... I am not familiar too with the Gigabyte BIOS - I've only owned 1).

Here is a link to what the titles mean:

http://articles.networktechs.com/printer-1.html

Some of the info may be outdated as this was written a couple of years ago, but the basics remain.

I hope that this helps, good luck

if your oc is set back to stock perhaps its a heat problem?
as i remember when i used to play 1942 DC lol with my crappy gf fx 5200 the fan died on it and it did exactly the same thing. i.e freeze loop sound etc. before i noticed the fan died.
