New Monitor Suggestion

Thread Starter
I am in the market to complete my tri-monitor setup. I am looking for one more monitor with the following features:
  • matte screen
  • IPS
  • 120hz
  • Lightboost
  • 24 or 27 inches
  • very bright colors with Lightboost engaged instead of dulled out colors.

Does such a monitor exist?

There are no IPS/PLS monitors that can be Lightboosted.

So then what is more valuable to play on? Lightboost or IPS screens?

Are you someone who wants to have the absolute cutting edge in terms of competitiveness (response time & lightboosted motion clarity) when playing fast-twitch FPS games like Counter-Strike:GO?

If not then, go with a 27" 1440p 120Hz PLS screen, like the Qnix QX2710 or X-Star DP2710 (same monitor).

Depending on how much you want to spend:
- Asus VG248QE (144Hz 1ms Response Time) $250-280.
- BenQ XL2420T (120Hz 2ms Response Time) $280-300.
- BenQ XL2420TE (144Hz 1ms Response Time) $380-400.

As you can see the VG248QE has the same specs as the XL2420TE but the build quality is lower.

So, decide if the BenQ has any extra features that make you want it over the Asus, and if higher build quality is worth ~$100 to you.

I have the XL2420T right now. Will the XL2420TE provide better color when Lightboost is enabled?
