3.3v rail fluctuations.

Thread Starter
G'day everyone, I built a new computer a couple of days ago and it keeps shutting down and won't turn back on until I unplug it from the wall, I installed Ai suite this afternoon, and a message kept popping up on my desktop "warning! +3.3v @3.7v." could this be the cause of my issues? The power supply is about two years old I think, it's a corsair vx 550.

If that reading is accurate, then yes. However, software is notorious for being inaccurate when it comes to reading PSU voltages.

Thank you. I'm going to assume that it is and buy a new psu. I was flying close to the sun with my wattage anyway.

No, not really. A system with one 7870 in it won't pull any more than about 300-350W from the PSU while gaming. It's even less if the CPU isn't overclocked.

Damn. I was guessing that you were experiencing that PSU incompatibility with Haswell.
