I don't know what else to do!! (Port forwarding issues, been forever)

Thread Starter
I've had these issues forever, from many years back until now. However, I'm completely and utterly fed up with it after trying everything and searching for maybe, 6+ years?
Port forwarding worked for a period of a year, I was so happy and it was like a miracle. The old unknown problems came up again??

So I'm trying to open Port 25000, using port checkers they're apparently closed and nobody can connect anyway.
>I've set a static IP (192.168.1.18)
>I've port forwarded both TCP and UDP port ranges 25000-25003 to internal IP 192.168.1.18
>I've set IP 192.168.1.18 as a DMZ host
>I've set both Inbound and Outbound rules in Windows Firewall to allow 25000-25003 TCP & UDP connections
>I've disabled windows firewall (though, every single PC I have in the house is having the same problems with port forwarding)
>I've reformatted twice this year (media pc, which is what I'm trying to port forward on)...
>I've reset the router to factory default several times
>I've tried using PFConfig as a last resort, nope

Using various online port checkers, reasons vary from:
>Connection Timed Out
>Connection Refused

Router model is a Dynalink RTA 1046VW, firmware is 3.63z.
Anyone, please give me a helping hand. I don't know what is left that I can do.

Could it be your ISP??

When I took out sky broadband a few years back I opened several ports that I required for use with rdp etc etc, and they regularly closed ports without asking and on occasions actually blocked my broadband completely until I had closed them again.

I had my solicitor determine they had breached there contract with me and sky swiftly terminated my service, since switching to virgin media I have had no issue.

Hi this Router also appears to be a Combo unit a Modem/Router in one unit.. Do you have another Router on your Network??
IF not We will need to find out the Routers DHCP Start & End IP.. To find that out log into the Dynalink RTA 1046VW and goto Status in there look for DHCP. IT should state a Start and End IP or a Pool of IP's what are they??

Once we find out what the DHCP IP's are we can reconfigure your Static IP on your PC. Making sure not to use any numer WITHIN the DHCP Start & End IP so for example if the start IP ius .100 and the end IP is .150 DONT use 100, 150 or anything inbetween.. Make it .200 or .50 just as long as it is not 1---150 and everything inbetween..

Also those ONline port checkers are NOT too reliable, well they sort of are but you need to have the program you are forwarding for in ONline mode like a Game server.. Try this Port checker it is more reliable and simple to use, It is Called Simple Port Tester:

http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-port-tester

OK Let me know what other Device you have on your Network and we can go from there.. If you have another Router you are Double Natted which can cause problems like you are experiencing.. Don't worry there is a Fix if you are Double Natted..

what tool do you use to check if your port status? online tool? If so, is that any applications or services on .18 listening to 25000-25003? From what I know, if there is no applications or services listening to those ports, the port status normally would be a closed.
