Well I have a few options in front of me that seem like the best options right now according to my research but I wanted to check with you guys who are much more knowledgeable on the subject!

The system
i7-950(Possibly moving to Haswell down the road)
ECS X58 SLI black edition
GTX 760-770
6gb Corsair Dominator

The Options

First the Fractal Design Tesla R2 500w

Second the XFX Core Edition PRO550w

What are your guys thoughts? Also I am open to suggestions, $80 is really the limit before shipping but would like to keep it in the $60-70 range.

if it were me id go for the best warranty option or change the xfx to an 850w (prices are similar)

XFX are pretty good with a 5year warranty, the higher wattage ones are modular and better scored than the tesla.

and shilka you compared a 1000w to a 550w, most rebrands use different components/parts in different wattage series.

That is why I was considering the Tesla shilka, it seems to actually be the better PSU? Although the XFX is supposed to be a great PSU as well at a better price
THe XFX is a Seasonic S12II the Tesla R2 is made by ATNG

I think the Tesla R2 use the same platform as the Rosewill Fortress one of if not the best non modular PSU´s you can buy

You sould just know that a few of them have been DOA

Well I think the Seasonic is still the best choice in terms of quality and a good warranty. It is also 80 plus gold and the XFX is only 80+ bronze. If I get one that is DOA then that is really terrible luck but I hear the RMA is not terrible
I am not saying its bad or anything just that some of them have been DOA

And then there is the coil whine problems a few of them have as well

Every brands has a few bad models here there

Not saying Seasonic is bad i am just making you aware of the any problems before hand

Ripple is higher but efficiency is higher and as said 2 years longer warranty
