I like 3D if you do it right. Avatar
, as crappy as it was (halfway through I was wondering where the story was, then I left), was apparently beautiful in 3D. It wasn't gimmicky "WOAH MAN STUFF JUMPING AT ME!" but rather served to create the atmosphere and world of Pandora. If you do it right, then it's awesome. If you screw up, it's cheesy. Try watching Avatar
in 2D. You lose a bit of the experience, but it's still the same movie. Now watch the home release of Jaws: 3D
. It's more comedic then anything without a third dimension.
It's aimed at kids and the hinges is most likely to break. I'm not sure if they just don't make them like they used to (*shakes old man cane*) or if it's least durable like Jack the Ripper is least evil in a room also including Mao Tse-tung, Hitler, and Joey Stalin. My SP has been abused so much in the decade I've had it, but the only thing I've ever needed to do is swap the battery (400 hours on Emerald, 150 hours on Sapphire, and 100 hours on LeafGreen plus a couple hundred more on other assorted games oftentimes with the light on) with one that held a charge for more than an hour or two.
