Not really. If one overclocks a 7970 to similar levels, it will trounce the 7950 even more than the difference that was there at stock speeds tongue.gif

But yes, your card is as fast as a 7970.

yeah i think you would be slightly faster. how are you testing stability ? you need to test benchmarks like 3dmark 2013 , heaven 4.0 and games like bf3, crysis 3, farcry 3, tombraider, an hour or so of testing is needed to confirm its stable in all scenarios.

7950 @ 1130/1650 will be equal to a 7970GHz and in some instances faster

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Sapphire/HD_7950_Vapor-X/31.html

7950 @ 1135/1635 faster than 7970GHz in BF3
post #15 of 18
Why are you repeating the same question?

Not really. they are closer than you think, 7950 @ 1130/1650 destroys a 7970 @ 925/1375. Probably 15% faster average.
Clock for clock the difference is less than 6% for the most part, and in some games there is no difference, the card with the higher clock will win. Unless you have a 7970 that can do 1300+ MHz, your 7970 won't trounce a 7950. But there are 7950s that can do 1300 MHz+ as well to make the difference closer and even beat or match 1150-1200 MHz 7970s ..
