4 GB card with 2 GB card SLI??

This may be a dumb question and I think I know the answer but figured I would ask anyway. I have a Evga 670 4 gb Superclocked card and I would like to go SLI. Now that I'm running Nvidia surround gaming. I was wondering if I could put a 2 gb card in the second slot since the memory is not use in from the second card.

I think I may have the answer as to why not. Because of the Bios on each card am I correct or can you? I would like to try to save myself a $100 if I can. Plus the fact that EVGA doesn't make my card anymore frown.gif

Thanks for the replies thumb.gif

The 4GB card will only use up to 2GB. You need another 4GB card to use all 4GB in SLI.

So your saying that it fall under the same concept as putting 2 cards in sli with different clocks. The faster card will dumb itself down to the slower gpu?
