Thoughts on TeamGroup 8GB 2666MHz kit?

Thread Starter
Hey everyone!

I'm about to buy some RAM for an Haswell build I'm doing, and would like some thoughts on these memory modules.

It's TeamGroup Xtreem LV memory with 2666MHz speed, CAS 11-13-13-35 timings and rated for 1.65V. It seems to be priced extremely low (£66) for what they are when compared to the typical 8GB 1600MHz kit which goes for around £50.

While I know memory speed doesn't make much difference in day to day use, I'd like to be able to experiment with memory overclocking. This kit seems like a steal at this price, and would come with added bragging rights. tongue.gif

Can I get a second opinion on if this is as good purchase?

Thanks!

most likely MFR single sided ,which is great for high frequency validation
there is two batches (old and new =green and black PCB which are are little easier to clock )

Apart from OEM Samsungs, which are extremely hard to come across these days, you won't find any 8GB that will offer better performance for this sort of money.

I got this kit last week and tested it yesterday with my 3770k+mvg, before my hs+z87 come in. Green pcb for me (crap?) Managed to boot at 2800 11-13-13-35 1t with 1,75v but wasnt stable even for spi32. Then tried 2666 at stock timings at 1,65v. Crashed after 20-30min of diablo3. Dont know if its due to weak ivy imc or just weak sticks.

And also worst performance, tested with maxmemm 1,99, than my gskills 2400c11 (tight sub) even at 2800c11 (auto)

Thanks for the advice! I've just gone and ordered the memory.

Haswell is supposed to have an improved IMC and as a result, should be good for higher frequencies.

The difference in performance sounds like the result of the G.Skills being double sided, but I've stuck with the Team memory due to the price.

Where are some of those OEM Samsungs nowadays?

I saw a kit on ebay for $158 kookoo.gif

To Noupoi:I would not get those for daily use.
Better off buying some used Ripjaws.
or Ballistix,Flares..etc..
