My HTPC has a OCZ Agility 32 gb os drive and a 640 aaks program drive and is much faster than a ny pc with just a hd

I put a samsung 840 250 gig in my laptop and its more responsive than a lot of high end desktops.

A ssd is definately good if u can fit it

in my opinion you should Save yourself 60$ and get a gtx 770.
a 770 outperforms a 7970 and demolishes it.
Either go with gigabyte, evga, msi or asus.
Gigabyte/EVGA > MSI > Asus
All of the 4 brands are very good. It's just personal preference to what you find more comfortable.
GIGABYTE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125463
MSI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741
EVGA: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130921
ASUS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121770
The EVGA one seems like a very good one smile.gif
Also don't forget that 770s are kepler. They consume almost twice as less power as a 7970, but outperform it.

Also trust the others on the SSD. MUUUUUUUUUCH better, im NEVER going back to a hard-drive. Also don't worry about space, just buy an ssd + hdd together and use them at the same time. haha. All i can say is an SSD is one of the most amazing things. When i was using my HDD 7200RPM temporarily until i can install windows on the SSD, it was slow as hell. I wanted to smash a sledgehammer on my PC. When i finally got the chance to actually install windows. My ssd is amazingly fast. I hated hard drives. But i only use my hard drive for games now.

The 770 in no way, shape, or form "demolishes" the 7970. They trade blows depending on the game.

A ocd 7970 beats a ocd 770. The 770 is just a rebadged 680 with better clocks

Where do you get the idea it destroys a 7970... A gem 1200core(1100 is average) 7950 will beat it slightly at stock.
