Corsair Vengeance 1500 mic broke.

Today my corsair vengeance 1500 microphone stopped working completely, it just doesn't detect my voice and when i move the mic itself it makes this VERY loud static noise. I can't get it back to warranty because if i do i'd have to wait 5-7 months for it to come back. I can live 5-7 months without 7.1 surround epicness. :S What should i do???

If it's under your one year warranty I don't think there's much you can do. I'd take advantage of RMA and get a working replacement while you can.

May need to buy a less expensive back up while you wait. I'm taking you live in another country where you have strict custom rules with shipping for it to take so long.

Sorry to hear this. Make sure you get the RMA number first and include it on top and inside of the box. Double assurance and quicker for processing once they recieve it.

Good luck.

Got a question - pardon I don't know this, but can you disable the mic completely so it dosent static or be heard?

If so can always buy a seperate mic attachment or self standing, plug that in separately and go that route if the ear phones work perfect.

Yes it is possible to mute the mic completely. There's a button on the volume control thingy, you just press it, the lights go from blue to Red (which means mic is disabled).
Another way is from the driver application.

This quality of this mic is just amazing... It's sad that it broke just after 2 months of normal use :'(
Edit: I forgot to say yes the headset is still perfectly working with no problems at all. Also the static noise comes when i turn up "mic loopback" or when i use the skype echo test.
