How much would i need to water cool this

Thread Starter
Im looking to do a custom water loop in my rig but i was wondering how big should i get my radiator and reservoir.......... I want to water cool my cpu and north bridge, the motherboard that i have is a asus crosshair v formula z.

Also would using distilled water be fine? Or should I get a high end cooling liquid?

how big should i get my Radiator and reservoir?

Should i add dye to distilled water if i end up using that?

Should i do a push/pull config or just push or just pull?

Is water cooling my north bridge necessary? If so should I also water cool my south bridge?

Around how much would it cost?

I kinda want my motherboard to look like this (picture below)

Distilled water will be fine; if you're mixing metals, get a biocide.

Res capacity doesn't affect cooling performance. The general rule regarding rads is 1x120 per component and another 120 on top. So if you're cooling a CPU, motherboard and GPU, you want a total of 4x120mm.

Only if you want the look. Otherwise just get coloured tubing.

I'd go pull because it makes cleaning easier. Push/pull is overrated, and only remotely necessary if your rads are over 60mm thick.

Motherboard cooling is only necessary if you're going for bigger OCs, and your board doesn't seem to run too hot. I wouldn't bother.

We'll need to know what components you have for that.
