Finally...

Right so,

When I move - I'll finally be able to upgrade my PC and the first thing is the GFX card.

Right now I have a GTX 680 4GB.

So I'm thinking of either:

Getting a second GTX 680 4GB
or
Getting 2 GTX 780 depending on the price I can get for the 680.

I run Skyrim and Fallout with High Res Texture mods.

So which would be better?

Getting another GTX 680 4GB

or

Selling the current 680 I have and purchasing SLI 780s?

Take this into factor: I can get a 2nd GTX 680 4GB for £370 inc P+P whereas the 780s would get ~£550 each depending on brand, plus waterblocks on top.

Can SLI GTX 680s keep up with the 7xx series - atleast the 770?

P.S.

After this, it'll be an upgrade to my entire cooling loop to include the GFX cards.

Eh... well.. That depends. Personally.... I'd get a second 680. The 770 is slightly better than the 680 (like 5~10% better), but, getting a second 680 is the best value. I don't think spending £1100 on two 780s plus blocks over SLI 680 is worth it.

Like I said... I'd get another 680, water blocks for both, and any money left, I would update something else my rig needed or just keep it, in your case, the watercooling loop.

Just my 2cents.gif

I'll probably get the 2nd GTX 680.

SLI 680s should still be beastly.

What he said...

For the price you're going to pay, you'll get a nice performance boost that won't kill your wallet.

Use those for the time being and when the GTX 800 series comes out you can think of upgading then.
