New Cooler for Socket 478

Thread Starter
My old stock Socket 478 cooler is dying, and I need a replacement that's quiet, and will keep everything cool. I would love to have one that will work with the standard bracket (or whatever it's called). Does anybody have any ideas?

TR2 M12 Socket 478 CPU Cooler - Refurbished - $13.49

Masscool Socket 478 to 3.4GHz / Ball Bearing / Copper Core / CPU Cooling Fan - $22.99

Thermalright XP-120 CPU Cooler

Honestly, none of the coolers are gonna be huge performers other than the Thermalright cooler.....maybe.... Of the coolers above i would probably buy the Thermaltake TR2.

Its time to start trying to find a way to upgrade. Parts for LGA 478 are difficult to find and will get even more so as time goes on. No one makes LGA 478 equipment or parts anymore. No one really makes LGA 775 parts either. But they are still pretty abundant.

Of the three you list the XP-120 is the best by far, it will tame even the fiercest Preshott with little noise.

Trust me. I know it's time to ditch S478 for daily use. But, I'm looking at new laptops to give my two P4's a break, as well as my Atom N270, the little badass that it is. But until then, they'll have to do.
