FB-DIMM compatibility

Thread Starter
I have a server with 4x 4GB Hynix FB-DIMM DDR2-667 ECC+REG. On it is written: HYMP525F72CP4N3-Y5 AC-T

Would it be ok / will the server work if I add an extra 4x 2GB Hynix FB-DIMM DDR2-667 ECC+REG, on it is written: HYMP525F72BP4N2-Y5 AC-A

?

TIA! smile.gifthumb.gif

More than likely it will work fine, but ultimately it's dependent on the motherboard/BIOS. I'm running 4x1GB and 2x2GB FB-DIMMs in a PE 2950 (might be a 2900) and it works fine, but on bootup it does tell you that the memory config is not ideal.
