PCIe 3.0, SATA4, DDR4... Am I the Only One Waiting for USB4.0?

Thread Starter
Am I the only one who is looking forwards to USB 4.0? I don't know how many of you out there have an external HDD to service your friends computers - or if you record gameplay/render your friends videos, but 130MB/s sucks sometimes...

Well, 130 MB/s is nearing the limit of most HDDs sequential write to begin with. If that's not enough, eSATA typically has slightly better performance and Thunderbolt is even faster.

Adoption of USB 3.0 is still very slow, and it's rumored that you won't see USB 3.1 hardware for another year. If speed is everything, the fancy thumb drives are significantly faster than our HDDs.
