how is the numpad actually useful in daily life, unless your doing something like playing an mmo. unless you're an accountant, i don't see the possible relevance. getting rid of the numpad is way more ergonomic, since you can sit your mouse and keyboard much closer together
I disagree. Backlit keyboard makes it much easier to quickly identify keys what you 'more or less know'. I know the QWERTY/extended tilde space better than the palm of my hand, but don't exactly remember every single AltGR/Shift combination of keys. Having them backlit makes them 'stand out' over the keys, making it faster to find them at a quick peek.
Of course, what I stated above is pure preference, and not representative of what other people might think.
this is one of the reasons osx is better. almost all the commands can be done 1 handed and just typically more straightforward. windows commands are just a crapshoot more or less, where many can't be done 1 handed and are just awkward. so i suppose you kind of have a point, but i don't even bother with windows commands for that reason. beyond like ctrl+r, for the most partEdited by perfectblade - 9/2/13 at 5:42pm
