7970 Crossfire - First Time Noob

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I've been a lurker on this forum for quite a while and finally made an account. I just purchased two Sapphire 7970 Dual X GPU's. I installed them last night and enabled Crossfire. I am brand new to dual GPU's and know even less about overclocking.

I turned ULPS off last night in MSI Afterburner (Recommended?) , but am not sure if it's working. It seems my GPU's are still throttling to the first one. I took some screenshots of the hardware information. I'll post my system specs if its needed.

I just want to know if Crossfire is working as it should.

Is there a benchmark or something I could run to test their synchronicity? Is MSI Kombuster any good?

Thank you guys! I am sure this is just one of many questions I will have and I know this forum rocks!

it looks like one of your gpus are in boost mode. as from you screenshot, one is 925 and 1 is 950 core

anyway it looks like its working as it should be. according to gpu z crossfire is enabled...

one good benchmarking program is 3dmark 11... dont have to buy. free version is good enough... and also, while running those test, check gpu core temp and vrm temps.... worry if it reaches 100... 80 is quite high already... but dual x should have a good cooler..

its a good idea also to post your system specs...

also, try using rig builder to post your system specs.. easier for us to see so we dont have to keep asking...

oh by the way, congrats and enjoy your gpus.....thumb.gif

never tried kombustor... and try to avoid furmark.... for now... furmark is very intensive gpu test...

3dmark 2013 is also good... or play gpu intensive games... crysis 3, or tomb raider using ultra settings..
