Looking for a good Soundcard

Hi everyone,

Am looking for a Soundcard. I'll be mainly utilizing it for Gaming, and to listen to music.
I have the Sennheiser HD600, so I obviously need an AMP. My older "sound card" was the Realtek ALC892.

So my question is :
1. Coming from on-board soundcard to a discrete one (Sound Blaster Z), will I feel the difference ?
2. Is the Asus Phoebus better ? Is it worth the +80$ more ?
3.I have a 700W Corsair Power supply (i5 3570k@4.2Ghz and GTX680, with 4 HDD). Will it be enough to power the soundcard ?
Thanks !

Sound cards dont take a whole lot of power you should be fine. I would imagine you wouldn't notice the difference between a Asus Phoebus and a Sound blaster Z. Although the asus will provide cleaner sounds through music. You will most likely not notice much of a difference gaming. It also depends on cost factor. This sound blaster here:

would be just as good as the phoebus, possibly even better.

I dont think you'd see alot of difference though really the sound quality should be equal, each has its slightly different perks.

The other thing to do is wait to see the price of the Phoebus Solo. That is the Phoebus card alone without the dock.
