Should one worry about pcb flex or is the backplate/heatsink plate enough to not worry about this card flexing your socket???

If it's just blackscreen and still can go back to desktop and show windows error report or nvidia kernel driver has stopped responding then it's only driver crash but if your PC automatically restart it self then it could be PSU (sometimes it's not cause by PSU because I have experienced it with GTX680 lightning, when playing metro last light suddenly PC rebooted it self although I have Corsair HX750).

I'm having a slightly similar issue myself at the moment. I'm trying to overclock both cards in tandem using afterburner, and I've made it up to +100 core clock and +300 memory without adding voltage yet.

Now here's where things get screwy...whenever I go 10mhz higher than +100, upon opening any bench of any kind, the display instantly crashes, so I think "ok, time to start upping the voltage!". So I start by adding +5...then +10, +20, +30, etc...but no matter what I add, the display insta-crashes at any clockspeed above +100. Am I doing something wrong, or is there something I'm missing here? Power limit is 109%, and temp limit is maxed at 95 by the way...also, both cards are active and SLI is turned on. Afterburner is syncing settings between cards as well...

This is a shot of my current stable settings at +100 core, and I've got Hynix memory on both cards

Do you use Skyn3t VBIOS?
With normal VBIOS I also have similar performance like yours, +110 core and +300 memory. I can go up to +180 core with +50mv but it's not smooth while benchmarking, there are few artifacts.
Why don't you try to overclock with single card first? And find it's max then second card. After that you may SLI them and overclock but clock will be abit lower than single card oc'ed because overclocking SLI is abit hard than overclocking single card.

How come?? What's your daily OC with this card, Dubak? max temp daily gaming?

Im running 2 x 780 lightning with elpida memory on a full custon watercooling and considering getting a 3rd 1 for tri sli. Will there be any problem with ocing/scaling if the 3rd card i get has hynix/samsung mem which is different vs my 2 elpida?

sky bios rev 2 ... 1,24V 1300mhz CORE 6400mhz MEMORY 77c temp

If crossfire is anything to go by, it is definitely much easier to find the limits of each card individually. They will almost always need different voltages to achieve the same overclock. Good luck! thumb.gif

Yup Elpida usually have lower overclock than others, so I guess you have to lower your OC'ed memory in 3rd card and make it same clock with your 1&2 cards. I bet your 3rd card will perform higher memory overclocking than others smile.gif

Mine at 1300/1600MHz +100mv (1.25v) with Skyn3t rev2 got max memory temp of 60c while running Valley... btw I'm on open rig/benchtable ^_^
