Does MSI AB offer 1.30v or do we still need to use rbby tool over 1.212v.
Been out of the running on GTX780's, and especially Lightnings, for a while but I found a secondhand Lightning I am getting..

You do need rbby tool to get the max volts possible. But on the stock bios and with afterburner 18, I could have sworn that I have hit 1.25 volts with maxing the slider to 100. I know that I was hitting 1.212 volts last night with the stock bios and voltage slider at +56. Maxing the voltage on the stock bios will likely cause a bit of throttling because you would start hitting the 109% power limit pretty quickly I believe. I know that people have done 1.4 volts and 1.4 plus with the flashed bios plus rbby. I wouldn't be comfortable doing that for any long period of time though.

Yeah. I have decided that stock voltage for the memory would definitely make me more comfortable. I have been able to bench at +700 on the memory but it showed an artifact or two I believe. I'm sure that it wouldn't be game stable which is what really matters.

I think this is going to be about the best that I can do on the stock bios for benching.

You would need a minature nuclear reactor to power tri sli max overclocked. thumb.gif I couldn't see tri sli being too terribly limited by elpida, but memory clocks have mattered way more than I originally thought for my single card.

I haven't had any issues with leaving my memory voltage @ 1.7v on air. They never get above 65c that I have seen. The memory/vrm plate on the lightning is one of the best on a GTX 780 and it''s only +100mv over stock, I wouldn't think i's a big deal at all - this is OCN thumb.gif

Don't get me wrong, what you trying to do here telling people to go 1.7v on air? Are you serious or you just play dirty here? People are exploding they GPU around 1.35 to 1.45v on a reference design.

he means the memory voltage, which comes at stock volts of 1.6, so 1.7 shouldnt be too bad on air for the lightnings cooler, 1.8v for water cooling is what i use for my classifieds biggrin.gif

Memory voltage brother biggrin.gif Still trying to find a way to push 1.8v into my memory - rbby tool is not working....
