Thanks for the info. I did know that my current psu got a fail from hardocp, but no problems here. (Knock on wood)

It should work but testing would be needed, if they are running at different timings using a bios for different memory can help or hinder performance. If you have Elpida on the card & flash a Hynix bios, looser timings on the hynix bios might improve the speed the Elpida runs at, but performance may still go down even with some higher clock.

Shouldn't hurt to try, but performance numbers can change so testing before & after should be done. Running as is at stock memory, daily overclock, & max memory OC while saving screens & then comparing scores to a new bios at the same speeds should let you know if it was a good idea or not.

Is it still better to switch it to the ln2 bios when the computer is still running? I remember reading about it not changing for some in case they did this.

You can flip the switch while the card runs, but the OS won't see the different bios until a reboot anyway, I usually just do it on the reboot.

That is going to be my plan. Strangely, I don't recall even seeing the bios switch when I put my waterblock on. Will I have to reinstall the graphics driver when I flip the switch and flash? The only video card flashes that I have done have been Ati/Amd.

Am i the onlyone experience in the past days, that when you overclock, and your Clock is unstabil, the driver crashes and takes down the computer with it? first the monitor flickers, and then it turns white or black, but still with the light in monitors. i have to hold down the power buttom on the computer and "kill" it and reboot. i have tried to reinstall the drivers, and reinstall AB and stuff like that, but it crashes after i reached 135 MC with 109%limit and +0mV and 190 Memory Clock.

any sugestions on what this could be? or if it is the new drivers or i have damaged the card or anything?

My video driver will just stop responding. I have heard other people talk about their GTX 780's doing something similar to yours, but not on a Lightning.

The driver does need to install when booting up the new bios, it auto installs in windows pretty fast though.

Usually when unstable if it is the core it will artifact, unless very unstable then it could crash to the blackscreen. Shouldn't get that going from a stable overclock to a slightly higher clock though.
Is the rest of the system stable?
Could be PSU if reaching it's limits as well, enough amps on the 12V rails?

I got a 850W Corsair TX PSU, should'nt that be enough?
