The tx850 should be fine for pretty much anything you can reach on air or water with a single card. Is it doing the full on blackscreen with all drivers or did it start happening after an update along the way?

Well, I couldn't quite wait to do the flash. I believe that it worked because my ln2 bios now goes to 300 for the power limit. I flashed the Hynix rev 3. There was a revision 4, but it said it was for B1 chips. My chip is an A1. Would it truly matter which bios I used i.e. rev 3 vs rev 4? Or an I reading too much into it?thinking.gif Many thanks to Skyn3t. The ezflash tool makes it a bit too easy. thumb.gif

Well here is a quick run at 125 + on the volts and at 1415 core. I will maybe try to push it a bit this weekend. Power limit says that it only hit 106. I kinda find that hard to believe. With the stock bios and lower clocks it pinged to 116 before. Gotta run tonight. Peace all. biggrin.gif

Does HX750 also works fine for this beast, Lorne? ^_^

I know this is Valley, but when you start reaching higher clocks on these cards 1250Mhz+ you really need memory capable of hitting 1700Mhz+ to really see good scaling.I have tested 7 current gen games and scaling without increasing the memory clocks is garbage. 1700Mhz or higher is not common on Elpida memory, which is why is sucks and MSI should take our cards back and exchange them for Hynix ones..... tongue.gif
Nice score again Face2Face thumb.gif I always dreaming of hitting +1400MHz with this card but still no luck frown.gif stuck at 1360 - 1380MHz with artifacting core.

But i am a sad panda now. It's got Elpida.. and afaik that's baaaaaaaad news.

Good news is, the core is doing very good.

I'm using the skyn3t LN2 BIOS (rev3 as it's for elpida).

Running +100mV (1.200v load? I was expecting more..) and 110% power limit.
Core is now testing at 1333Mhz and seems fine so far in Valley which is my initial testing program. I am pushing a extra 13Mhz every 10 minutes of loop till it either artifacts or crashes.
Then i'll test 1 or 2 steps of 13Mhz lower in other tests to see if it stabilizes.

So far still no sign of artifacts on 1333Mhz even on just 1.20v load.

EDIT: Ok, 1346Mhz artifacts in Valley and 1333 artifacts in 3dMark Fire Strike.
1320Mhz so far seems to be working.

As for Aux, what use does it have?

EDIT2: Ok, it's worse then I thought.. These Elpida chips will not do +200 no matter what voltage i slam into them. +100 orso is the max I can get on like, 1.70v.. 1.60v I can barely make it to +80 without artifacting...
Rev3 is for Hynix but Rev2 is for non Hynix like Elpida, I believe it's on page 1. I use Elpida so I flashed with Rev2 smile.gif

For PSUs it depends on how much the clocks & voltage get pushed, a 550w psu will work for stock & a mild overclock, the cards just eat more power as the voltage & clocks increase.
With a 750w PSU you may start running into power issues if pumping ~1.4V+ into the card, at 1.45v I was pulling around 900w from the wall, right around 800w from the PSU.

I don't push beyond 1.40volt biggrin.gif stay for benching max around 1.35volt.

It just go totally black, and also sometimes the signal to the monitor dissapears too. then i have to restart the computer to make sure there is a picture on the monitor.

This didn't happen like 7-10 days ago. but then i updated the drivers and this began to happen. then i downgraded my drivers to an older version and it still happens. it's like is it something with my card now.

Out of curiosity, did you overclock your PCI express bus in the bios. I had a similar issue with my previous cards related to this. I had accidentally overclocked the PCI-e bus. It went away after I set it back to default.
