Since +100 is as far as Afterburner goes, will I have to use a voltage hack or something to increase the voltage of card 2, or what can I do to get them on the same level? I know through previous testing that card 2 will do at least 1280 core @ 1.165 volts...

Sorry that I don't have sli. I would try this myself otherwise. Does afterburner have a drop down box to switch between the cards? That is how Asus Gpu tweak was that I used for crossfire. You could then set voltages individually. It sounds like you are already doing this though. You are running afterburner with administrative control? To up the voltage even further, you can use Rbby tool. Just use it with caution because you can give it enough voltage to damage your card with this tool. Meaning 1.4 volts and on.

Hello,

I have read almost all pages on this post but i don't find the information ^^

I have bought this amazing card a week ago.

Can I use the bios "skyn3t vBIOS rev 4 : Release Date 11/26/2013 (Hynix)" on the first page even if I have a new bios ?

My memory is Hynix (checked with nv inspector)

Here's my bios :

IFR Data Size : 1272 bytes
IFR CRC32 : 42D632F6
IFR Image Size : 1536 bytes
IFR Image CRC32 : A8329ACE

MSINV296MH.131

The bios on the first page is 80.80.21.00.60 and mine is 80.80.21.00.72.

I have the same issue of that guy : http://www.overclock.net/t/1459891/gtx-780-adding-core-offset-lowers-base-clock-voltage-and-crashes-older-games

This is why I want to flash my bios. (my GPU is rock solid at ~1202mhz in full load without voltage increase but the GPU crash when the gpu clockdown to ~980mhz because the voltage dropdown to ~0.8/0.9V (1.0V without overclocking when the GPU is at 980mhz)

Thanks in advance for your answer ^^

NV296MH.zip 135k .zip file

You can go ahead and flash one of the rev 4 bios since you have Hynix memory. It has worked great for me. I would advise you to save a copy of your original bios with gpuz first. It's a backup just in case you ever need to return to the stock bios.

I am definitely setting each card independently yes. I might just have to try the Rbby tool, because I'm almost positive card two is not getting enough voltage for some reason. Afterburner is definitely in admin mode as well.

In another note, my water cooling parts came in a few minutes ago and I'm already at work lol. Just flushed the radiators, now I'm fitting them to the chassis. smile.gif

That's strange. It sounds like you have it set right. Try out Rbbys tool and see if that gets you anywhere. Let me know how the temps are once you get everything under water. thumb.gif Just in case, try maxing out your power limit too to see if that makes a difference.

Do you have an ivy bridge or haswell setup? Otherwise you are limited to pci-e 2.0. Mine at idle will drop down to 1.1. Fire up gpuz then click on start render test. You should see it jump up to 3.0.

Here is a picture of mine at idle.

Thanks for the answer.

I have a 4770K with Z87 MPOWER MAX.

I have fixed the problem, i have switch from AUTO to GEN3 for the PCI-E "0" in the bios of the CM where my card is installed.

Before it was PCIE 2.0 @ 2.0 on GPUZ and now i have PCIE 3.0 @ 3.0.

So it's fixed but i don't know why PCI-E was switched of 3.0 to 2.0 by flashing the card ... (before, pci-e 3.0 worked with "AUTO" on the PCI-E)

It's normal that the voltage is only ~1.137 even with +100mV with the "skyn3t vBIOS rev 4" ? (where's the 1.21V ? ^^)

Glad that you got it sorted out. What is your default voltage? Hoevito is having a similar issue. Try Rbbys tool and see if that helps.

Still tweaking. I have upped my memory voltage to 1.7 volts to help maintain stability. Here is my the Benchmark for Metro Last light 1920 x 1200 fully maxed out.

Got my Lightning in a few days ago from Newegg. This is a pretty big jump from my PNY 570, but I try to at least double my framerate every upgrade. Here's what you guys probably care about first: yes, it's Elpida. Hah. That was the very first thing I checked when I booted up.

Initially, I was just going to run a few benchmarks and then get into some super sampled Sleeping Dogs action, but when I started taking pictures, things kind of got out of hand:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23922406/GTX780Review/index.html

That's my mini-review/comparison of the two cards at 2560x1920. The Lightning easily doubles my previous scores, and while I don't usually play at that resolution (my 21" Sony Trinitron can only hit 57Hz at that res), I'm a huge fan of sparse grid super sampling, which needs all the performance it can get. I also try the 570 as a dedicated PhysX GPU.

So I'm very happy with the card but for a few things: I'd like a little more voltage, but I've got to find a way to lower the idle fan speeds. While I'm sitting here, my GPU temp is current at 28C! These fans could be half or a even third as loud! I've flashed my 570's BIOS to lower the minimum fan speed, but I don't know if it's possible with the Lightning. If it is, are the fans still separately controllable with MSI's VGA fan software?

Unrelated, but Newegg didn't pack the Assassin's Creed 4 code with the box. I'd almost forgotten about it with all the benchmarking, but I talked to their support, and they shipped it out the next day.
