Well, I managed to get both to pass Firestrike for once boosting up to 1320 core on the stock bios. One card however would drop all the way down to 1240 core on occasion but it did manage to pass. I apparently had to up the voltage all the way to 1.363 for that particular run however.

I've still had a whale of a time getting both to pass Firestrike on either Skynet bios. I've been experimenting with the LN2 bios, and it actually has the voltages for both cards around the same, with only a .01 difference usually...whereas the stock Skynet bios had them pretty far off. The LN2 bios sadly doesn't seem anywhere near as stable under SLI though, because it will frequently crash the display and the display will recover, but the overclocks will be lost. It's been a really janky experience so far trying to sync these cards up as best as I can...but I'm still working on it!

Ok, maybe I'm just playing it too safe with the voltages...but what's the max safe voltage we can juice these suckers up to under water?

Well, turns out all I needed to do was up the voltages apparently. Here's my best Firestrike run, with both cards boosting on the stock bios. I wish I could get the Skynet bios to cooperate and act right, but I have a little too much instability with it, and cannot get both cards TOGETHER past 1260 core. I have a feeling these cards are capable of sooooo much more though...

Glad to hear that it finally completed. I'm not sure about the instability that you see with the flashed bios. The bios that truly opened it up for me was the revision 4 for Hynix. I previously had tried revision 3 and was about to just settle for stock. Which bios did you flash? You have hynix and elpida right? I'm not sure what the true "safe" voltage would be underwater. I am going to limit myself to 1.3 volts 24/7. I'm still sitting quite a ways from that point right now though. You "might" be okay with 1.35, but I would worry about having sli and pushing those voltages due to power draw. I wasn't confident that my 900 watt psu would be able to take it. Considering that my vrm temps seem to average 30-32 or so right now. Maybe I am the one being too conservative. tongue.gif

Have you tried just overclocking the core? You might want to see how high that you can get just on the core. Once you find that out, you can start going for it on the memory. See if that brings anything to light for you. Good luck. thumb.gif

That could be my issue here. I'm using a EVGA Nex 650G PSU. However, the card is maxing out at 1.2 on the core. Still annoyed with the artifacts with any clock over 1240. I can not get the card to use any power % over 100 % in any situation. I'm stumped.

If you are still getting artificats, then you likely still need more voltage.

i have both my voltage at +100mV and maxed out 300%limit. i can do over 1135 stock bios with everything maxed out. still i can't seem to get a stable 1200MHz on the LN2 bios at all. the only testing program i use is Firestrike, but that should be really nice t ocheck for a 24/7 stable clock.

this is what i got:
The stock bios is running on this:
+63mV
109% limit
+135MHz core clock
+180Memory clock.

The second bios: (skyn3t LN2 rev4)
+125mV
300% limit
+200MHz (unstable like hell, no artifacts, card doesn't get hot at all, sometimes firestrike just crashes)
+250MHz memory clock

Been thinking of picking up a couple of 780 Lightnings but I'm in the middle of Lightning vs Classified debate and it's driving me mad.


The biggest concern I have with the lightning is the crap elpida memory that it can come with vs the latest classified's that have samsung or hynix and no more elpida memory.
