[Official] MSI GTX 780 Lightning Owner's Club - Page 317

There's one on Amazon for 499.99

I wouldn't buy a used one for more than $500 unless it had Samsung memory. If it had elpida I wouldn't even do $450.

Thanks for the heads up. It's a bit unfortunate though since my first card already has elpida... I got it up to around a +250 though once i got the card warmed up. I have it running around 200 stable though.

I thought only the MOA cards had Samsung chips or was there retail cards?

Finally, I'd like to officially join the exclusive 780 Lightning club. Our "special status" is even more emphasized by the recent disappearance of these slick black and yellow GPUs from all major US retailers. Let we the lucky ones enjoy our cards! biggrin.gif

Yeah, that is what I was going for.  I was hoping to avoid an increase in temps by going with the AIO bracket solution, and succeeded.  I am still using the stock unisink, but now just have fans blowing on the card/unisink.

Wouldn't the Hynix clocking higher compensate for Samsung's lower clock & tighter timings.

I had a 780 FtW that had Samsung Ram stable till 1800Mhz, sadly the card died after a week.

The classy that I bought last week has Hynix which is stable till 1927 Mhz.
I havent tested for the same core clock, different memory clock yet ( maybe tonight) but I think the extra 127 Mhz should be enough to compensate for the looser timings.

Elpida or Samsung, what are these using?
I need to get rid of my 780 lightning haha. But mine uses Hynix Memory which is in short a looser timing samsung it overclocks amazing i had mine at 1802mhz without a voltage bump.

So, I have decided to upgrade my MSI GTX 780 Gaming Edition to a Lightning. Card should be here by friday smile.gif

What is the max voltage? Because I read that the stock bios is locked at less than 1.21v?
