Thanks for the information. That's about the only place that I can find them now.

I would check them out if they were anywhere near me. The closest one to me is probably 6 hours or so away. It would be awesome to live near one. My current i7 3770k came from a Microcenter in Georgia. It only cost me about 230 bucks. The thing is wicked too. I can do 4.8 ghz at about 1.24 volts. biggrin.gif I tried 5 ghz just to say that I hit it. It just required much more voltage and the temps started creeping into the mid 70's. It just wasn't worth keeping it there 24/7.

Truthfully, I just can't talk myself into getting a second card for sli even though that was my original goal. I have one 1920x1200 monitor, and the lightning just pretty much victimizes every game that I have tried. I think that I will just continue to build my game library. I'm even looking forward to the new Wolfenstein, Watchdogs, etc.

That is very interesting! My understanding is they are no longer being made...so I guess EU just hasn't sold through the stocks. They really sold strongly back when the 780 received its price cut. After that, they were tough to find and continue to be (other than eBay). You can still find some great cards on eBay. I'm not afraid of it (obviously, I bought one there!) - partially because MSI has a card-based warranty and plus most people will give you their original store receipt and the box and such.

Playing with 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme...need to switch to the LN2 BIOS the stock BIOS is all whacky with the boost stuff.

I have the 4770k. Funny thing is, it went on sale for $199 last November, only good for 3 days. Too late for me to decide, so I got mine for $249...but, I got about $40 discount on motherboard compared to its original price when 4770k was @199... so it kind of even out. I still got a good deal.

my processor is another story - it runs away on its own reaching 5 - 6Ghz+ ...opened a ticket to intel and they're looking into it. If it wasn't the processor (which I'm not convinced it is the problem), I'll point my fingers to my mobo.

Back to msi lightning, it's on sale again! How much gpu clock do you reach (stable) on water and at what voltage?

Ha ha. Sounds like your processor is just chomping at the bit. With regard to my Lightning, I do have a full cover EK block. I have several different overclocks that I use depending on the game. The reason being some games like Thief etc. don't really need to be overclocked to the max in order for me to reach a stable 60 fps which is my goal. My current max game stable overclock for my gpu is 1415. I have to push around 1.27-1.28 volts to keep Crysis 3 artifact free. I can haven't bothered to test further in my games. I'm quite happy with 1415 core. tongue.gif In Arkham Origins, I have tried 1400 core with just 1.25 volts, and it does just fine. Crysis 3 has really been the test for my card. I have been gaming at 1350 with 1.25 volts in Thief because it is more than enough for that game. I got one of the better clocking Lightnings though. I have been able to bench higher than a decent number of heavily overclocked 780 ti and Titans in Valley at least.

Can anyone help me with 0% LLC? When I use the Rbby258 tool I always get invalid. Also if I try through command line
Also, does anyone know where to purchase connectors for the voltage checkpoints? All three of mine perished in a terrible soldering disaster.

LLC can't be changed, just have to bump the voltage a bit to make up for the vdroop & get the load voltage needed.

Not sure if the v-check connectors can be bought separately, did the connectors themselves keep their shape enough to be able to put new wires in them?
