SSD Running Very Slowly

Thread Starter
Motherboard: M4A89GTD Pro
CPU: AMD 965 3.4Ghz
Ram: 4GB OCZ Reaper
SSD: OCZ Agility 3

I've got every port in my bios set to AHCI, got it forced to 6GB/s. I didn't install any drivers on startup, after I got into Windows 7 I installed my Chipset drivers and that was it.

One thing I noticed, setting my BOOT Prioity, it says IDE: OCZ Agility and IDE: ATAPI DVD DRIVE. Not exactly sure why?

I've got the SSD plugged into Port 5; and DVD drive into Port 6.

Where is the problem if your 6Gb/s drive is running at 6Gb/s? Maybe you could be a bit more specific, because I'm obviously missing something here. wink.gif

How about posting an AS-SSD screenshot so we know exactly what the problem is (if there even is one). Mind, OCZ Agility 3 is SandForce with asynchronous NAND so I wouldn't exactly expect top performance from, particularly the lower capacity models.

Nvm, it's not running slow. AS-SSD uses a different compression than ATTO(which is what OCZ tests their drives with). I was getting 199read/134 write on AS-SSD. Which is pretty normal, and on ATTO-Disk I was getting 500ish read/write so my ssd is preforming nicely. I just had to do a bit of research.

Not really so much that AS-SSD uses different compression. It's the fact that ATTO doesn't use compression at all while AS-SSD uses incompressible data.

AS SSD will show you if you are really in AHCI mode or not, in the drive information on the upper left side of the screen.
