Having a dumbphone doesn't prevent you from being tracked, with a smartphone you aren't forced to use social media either.

Or being creative and being a company that actually caters to everyone's needs. The amount of people with smart phones that don't use them as "smart phones" is pretty insane. The vast majority of people with an iPhone do very simple, basic, if ever, browsing, and other tasks, while using it mainly for text/facebook and phoning. Heh.

This phone would be ideal for me working in the construction industry. I need a phone that can take a bit of a beating, battery that lasts for days and a decent enough camera for when I really need a photo of something. Never say die signal would also help.

The pricetag is great. The way phone contracts work over here is not the same over in the US. Its either you take out a 2 year contract and get the phone free (but pay big contract fees), or buy the phone outright (full price) and go pre-paid. Contract pricing goes around $30-100/month BEFORE call and data costs. The only "unlimited" plan available here goes or about $250/month I think, and that is still with limitations on everything. Just to give you an idea, the GS4 goes for about R9000 here ($900), so $150 would put it cheaper than the Blackberry Curves go for at the moment (~$220)

Yes I said Blackberry Curve. As far as I know South Africa is the 2nd or 3rd largest market in the world for Blackberry, given that BIS gives you free basic internet for about $6/month on prepaid, and data costs are redonculious here.

3rd World Problems, you know rolleyes.gif

Hell, the original Motorola Razr had an aircraft grade aluminum structure. Sturdy as hell. Cool to the eyes and cool to the touch...a friend had one and since aluminum doesn't get hot, he actually stated that it hurt to type when out in the cold tongue.gif. I remember handling those at my job in FNAC back in 2004. Unlocked, they retailed for more than 789€-1056,80$ December 2004 prices. blinksmiley.gifbigeyedsmiley.png

Some people need only the "green and the red button", and dialing directly using a convenient, recognizable keypad.
Lets see how tech savvy you and your close ones will be in your 60s +

At least people buying this are more honest than the whanabe techie granpas and granmas that not only have an iphone, but brag about its capabilities they probably used ones with the aid of some colleague, or just for killing time...you know, those guys that probably cannot read anything on the screen and hold it at arm's reach, cause they don't feel comfortable putting reading glasses on.

If this phone has one feature (which I don't even see hinted at), I will dump my Samsung Galaxy S3 and get this one.

I want a "dumb phone" with a long battery life (which this has), is of durable construction (aluminum body and Gorilla Glass, makes it so), and ... I want it to be on the 4G LTE network and can act as a WiFi hotspot for my tablet.

If this phone will allow me to be my WiFi hot spot, I will use this as a phone and hotspot for everything else. To heck with surfing the web on a tiny screen. If I need to surf the web, with this and my 10.1" tablet, that would be MUCH better. I want a phone to TALK on, and if it can act as an interface for my computing devices, then it would be PERFECT in my opinion. I'm tired to texting and surfing a tiny phone, and when I just want a phone for staying in contact, this would be perfect.

PLEASE let this act as a WiFi hot spot!
