Change for change's sake isn't good. I'm still sporting an old Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic. If I found an smartphone like it, I would change without a sweat.
The thing is, the Xpressmusic range had(and probably actual Nokia phones in the same spirit) an amazing DSP/Amplification chip. Neither Iphones, nor Galaxies, come near it in sound quality and amplification, unless you use an external DAC, which if I did to my Xpressmusic...oh well, I don't need it, I already outputs beefy bass, sharp mids and crystal clear highs, I don't wanna put people with expensive phones+DACs which listen to MP3s even more to shame. Use it in the car audio, parties, etc. Just no color between them
You wouldn't believe how weak they sound when connected to any thing. At max with my Xpressmusic at almost the mid volume, when connected to something...well, it isn't fair, and those are low volume DISTORTED MAX's vs well amplificated beefy and potent mid volume. Just weak. Paired with the ability to play WMA(no loss), and absurdily big MicroSD cards...
I gather one of the HTC models has a sound almost equal, equal or even better than the Xpressmusic range. If any HTC owner wants to chime in, maybe I'll finally find a trusty heir to the 5310. Edited by Nonehxc - 9/1/13 at 6:01am
