I've not had hands on experience with the SBE X2, but it looks to me like the heatsink isn't keyed into the mount:
^The 'bridge' piece is not sitting snug on top of the the heatsink's contact base, it's raised up (by that central bolt?), so what's to stop the heatsink from rotating after installation? Also, isn't that the the old Ven-X style tensioner bolt that led to motherboard/socket damage? The Noctua actually has springs providing the tension (also making it impossible to over-tighten) That Thermalright system seems to just rely on the flex of the bracket to provide 'spring', which strikes me as a much less elegant solution.
The Prolimatech kit is flawed because with some motherboards the whole mounting assembly remains loose right up until the point where you bolt on the heatsink. Once the heatsink is on it's OK, so it's not the end of the world, but it feels like a poorly designed system to have it rattling around until the last minute.Edited by Oubadah - 8/31/13 at 5:14am
