why cant i OC my amd cpu please help

hello i have an ASUS M2R32-MVP motherboard with a phenom 9500 cpu at stock 2.2 Ghz i know the cpu is old but its the best my board can handle and im poor so yeah any how if i over clock above 2.3 i get BSOD if i go over 2.5 my pc wont even post at all ill post my cpu and ram info from speccy just incase you need it also in my ami bioe the voltage setting for my cpu are greyed out here the speccy info

what can i do to get better performance i bought this cpu as resident evil 5 plays better with 4 cores instead of 2 cores thanks

The first problem is probably the motherboard. It probably isn't capable of overclocking this CPU very far at all. I looked this motherboard up on the internet, and it looks to me to be a very cheap, low-quality basic motherboard that's probably not very good at overclocking to begin with. Then to try overclocking the best CPU that this motherboard supports would be even more difficult.

Then there's the power supply. If you have a low-quality PSU, then overclocking is going to be difficult due to the dirty, "noisy", unstable quality of the power that it's delivering to your system.

The memory plays a role too, but I don't know how to explain it. However, what I do know is that you need memory that's designed for overclocking.

Naturally, it's also good to have a decent aftermarket CPU cooler.

In other words, I think you have just too many factors working against you.
