MSI GTX 780 (Gaming) coil whine?

I've had this MSI GTX 780 (Gaming) for about a month and it has been making quite a lot of noise while gaming.

I've recorded a sample of starting up and playing Borderlands 2:
Sample
0-10s is Windows Idle
10-36s is Loading & Menu
36s+ is actual gaming and where the noise really kicks in

Sleeping Dogs and Splinter Cell Blacklist also result in the same amount of noise (more or less)
Unigine Valley also leads to the same noise (if not louder) regardless whether I take Extreme HD preset or a combination of Custom settings (DX9, DX11, OpenGL, Fullscreen, Windowed, 0x-8x AA)

Is there anything I can do about it?
Is it definitely the GPU or should I be looking at maybe the PSU?
Is this grounds for a RMA?

I unfortunately don't have access to another 780 or a suitable PSU for testing...

PSU: PC Power & Cooling Silencer Quad 750W (Mk1)
Mobo: Asus Z87-A

Well, you could take the card apart and lubricate the fans. To be honest though, once you find out the fan, it's grounds for an RMA.

If you want to test the PSU, I would stress out the CPU. Use something like Intel Burn Test. Go max OC and see if it's the PSU.

It is definitely not the fans on the GPU thats making the noise. Taking the card apart is anyway not really an option (warranty sticker on the screw).

As far as overclocking and stress testing goes the PSU does not seem to have any problem with that.

Just a quick update. I've replaced my PSU and the coil whine is completely gone smile.gif
