NVS 5400m overclocking

Hi guys!

I just got my Lenovo L430 and was trying to see where the nvs 5400m can go. It is quite similar to the gt 630m.

I already tried nTune and msi afterburner, with different results.

nTune/Nvidia system tools 6.08:

I can adjust the core and the memory clock with the sliders.
Gpu-Z tells me, that the changes for the memory are accapted, but no matter what i set as core clock, it stays at the stock speed of 660mHz.
In Gpu-Z its not even shown as a changed speed of the core clock. Just absolutely no influence on what i set.

MSI-Afterburner (2.3.1 and the 3.0.0 beta, same results):
When i adjust the speeds of core and mem, Gpu-Z tells me it worked, the clocks shown are higher than the "Default clocks".
That´s a little success, cause i was not able to change the core clock with nTune.

In both cases Temp caps at 80°C, while the fan isnt at full speed (checked with Think-Pad-Fan-Control), so there should be some room for clocking left.

BUT

When i fire up Heaven-Benchmark and look at the "Sensors-Tab" of Gpu-z, the core speed doesnt change. It is still at 660 mHz.
Memory works though, but with a minor performance advantage.

So is there some kind of a hard-cap for th core speed?
By the way, lowering the core speed wont work either.

One little plea: Please dont start that "not meant for gaming debate XD".
Lets say i want to get more frames in Solidworks :-)

Thank u guys in advance!
Hope your rigs are all running well and cool!

Im looking forward to hear from you. Bye!

So i tried nVidia Inspector 1.9.7.2 Beta, same here:

As u can see, the Memory reacts on the changes, the Core does not.

But it´s a nice tool, thx for the hint!

Some other ideas?

My cousin was able to change his volts through the VBIOS maybe he can try and change the Core speed for you upload your bios and i will let him look into it

Well, thanks for the proposal.

But i would prefer some hints on how to do that on my own, before someone else has to do work for me :-)

I tried NiBiTor 6.06, but it cant read my bios.

It does not detect my card :-(

Anyway, maybe its a little hard flashing the bios, im a little afraid of that i must admit.

Maybe some other ideas, before going that step?
But thank you for your offer Awsan.
