Won't POST?

So after I install a new hard drive, my computer is taking a long time to POST (like 5-10 seconds at the BIOS screen before the beep).

When I get up this morning to boot it, it powers on, then right after that powers off. And now, it won't even power on. I know the PSU works because I swapped in another working one and the same thing happens AND the lights on my ASUS mobo all light up (the logo and the power on/reset buttons).

I think that's strange so I start trying to figure out whats wrong. I've tried removing my GPU and swapping it with another, but that doesn't do anything. I've tried booting it with no components attached, just the 24pin and 8pin connectors, and same thing.

Now its possible that I shorted something as when I was pulling the GPU out the computer briefly came to life but shut down right after that. I don't see any damage to the mobo and I don't think that caused any problem since the mobo lights are still up.

Suggestions?

Did you secure the ATX 4 or 8 pin and 24 pin connectors?
Will it post if you unplug the new drive?

Yes to the power connectors
No to the new drive. In fact, it won't post even if I remove everything and only leave the 24pin and 8pin in. I've even tried booting without the CPU to rule that out, but it won't POST there either.
I have a pretty good feeling that the mobo is fried altho I can't find any physical evidence of it =S

Maybe the board shifted in the case and now it's ground on something, breadbox it.

i wouldnt expect it to post without the CPU.
As said above, it could be a contact issue with the motherboard. Good thing to try would be to take it out, put the board on top of the motherboard box, plug in the PSU, reseat the CPU and RAM and try booting it that way.
