im building a 2 rad water loop with fans in push pull so total of 10 fans i have the asus rampage iv broad .. this gives me to 2 cpu pwm headers to work with , so im going to use the "swiftech 8 way pwm splitter seen here x2

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/20988/ele-1196/Swiftech_8-Way_PWM_Cable_Splitter_-_SATA_Power_8W-PWM-SPL-ST.html

the trouble is i simply dont know where to plugin the sata plug ? ( i know how to plug the rest in)

i can see their is a cable running from the power supply up to my x2 ssd drives and 1 hdd drive and cd drive their is some spear sockets their to plug in a sata to i think , is it ok to plug in 2 8 way splitters to this cable to power the 10 fans and 1 pump ( only that sounds like a lot to me for one cable )

so i was hoping their was a way of powering each 8 way on its own cable from the psu ?

is it as simple as getting this type of converter x2

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/20988/ele-1196/Swiftech_8-Way_PWM_Cable_Splitter_-_SATA_Power_8W-PWM-SPL-ST.html

I have plenty of spare sockets on my psu ...just none of them are sata ? i thought the sata power cable would plug direct into my psu ? this is what is confusing me

just seems odd to put a plug on something that needs power(ie a sata plug) but does not fit into the power supply (ie it needs to be a 6 pin plug ) with out using a converter ?

so please can any of you tell me is using the 6 pin to sata converter what i need to use or is their a simpler way of me doing this ?

Plug the PWM splitters into the spare SATA sockets that are already there, or plug in another PSU to SATA cable if there are none free.
Running fans from a SATA cable is no problem at all. If it was they wouldn't make the thing.
The Water pump does not get its power from the PWM splitter ... it has a molex connection.

I didnt know this
"The Water pump does not get its power from the PWM splitter ... it has a molex connection"

so that was very helpful to know, am i right in guessing the way to plug this in with my set up would be ,

to plug the molex into my fan hub (their will be nothing ells running through this any more ,and it has a molex socket ready)

and the small fan like plug into the 8 way splitter to give it the pwm control to the pump ? this last sentence is probably the one im the most unsure about ?

thanks

Plug the pump 3/4 pin into your mobo and the take a 6pin to molex from your Corsair PSU and plug them respectively

If the pump is the PWM version (the fan connector will have two wires leading to it instead of only one, and there is no manual dial on the back of the pump) then yes, the 3 pin fan connector needs a PWM signal from the motherboard to operate properly. It doesn't matter if it is connected directly or through the PWM splitter.
Not sure what you mean by a fan hub with a molex power connector, but yeah, anywhere you can connect it to give it power is fine.

If the pump is not the PWM version (just in case), the 3 pin fan connector does not absolutely need to be connected to anything ... it is only for reporting the speed of the pump, and would likely not work if connected to the PWM splitter anyway as only one device reports its speed back through the splitter to the motherboard. That is also why mixing different devices on a single PWM splitter can be tricky without very careful planning or devices can end up running faster or slower than planned.
