You all have been so helpful, I'm not sure if you all follow newegg deals but here you go
Wow nice rig, the cpu and power supply are very similar to mine -- well the cpu I'm looking for speed wise, there's just so many dam CPUs it's very hard for me to choose!
Will the amd card you mentioned out fold a GTX 660 you think?
The power use will be around 130 - 170 yeah I know wide range...
One of the "tech" sites say an over clocked 660 ti will pull around 130 or maybe it was 150, I don't remember!
I'm sorry... I'm just an Nvidia guy.... It's always been tough to consider getting an AMD card...
I'll worry about the GPU later, atm I STILL haven't decided on a cpu, slowly trying to figure out the best price/speed all that versus power use! It's tough!
This CPU is looking good,
But just for picky measures I want to see if there is anything in the 65 watt range!
Like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116876
but is there any way to tell if it REALLY uses less power?
100 MHz slower but 3.5 ghz turbo, vs no turbo on the one above
Do you think turbo eats power, I ask all this because tomorrow i have a bit of homework I need to finish at ive been putting off for a few days!
I just can't find a way to thank you all enough! You all have been EXTREMELY helpful and there was no way I'd have found asus h77 boards without you all!!!
Edit, about F@H, Double Precision and GTX 660 from newegg review... Thoughts?
"Other jobs which are available DO require the use of double-precision computing and this card's throughput drops to 1/24 (~4%) when using double precision, compared to the 1/8 (12.5%) seen in the GTX 500 or GTX Titan series. A GTX 560 is actually much more powerful than a GTX 660 Ti in double-precision computing, despite the lower core count. The GTX Titan is almost worth the money in comparison to the GTX 660 Ti."
This is also reassuring, could I call asus support and have them update the bios?
Also I don't have the cash right now so yall can take this deal
GTX 660 ti $210
One more thing
If I sli two GTX 660 ti but they function at 8x instead of 16x for one... What will that be like?
"+/- Single GPU at 16x, but turns to 8x when using Dual SLI. Not uncommon though."
After doing some reading it REALLY doesn't make a big difference if both cards are at 8x!
