Cannot get Eyefinity to work

I am trying to get Eyefinity to work on my computer. I have an AMD Radeon 6870. I have 3 monitors hooked up: One is from the Displayport to HDMI, one is from a DVI (Graphics card) to HDMI and the final one is just HDMI to HDMI. I called my local computer store asking for help and they said that because none of my monitors have a DVI or display port input that it won't work. I'm just wondering if you guys know anything different because I'm really bummed that I spent $250 on a monitor that won't work. Thanks.

Your display port connection must use an active adapter. Something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815242011 , or if you need 1440p http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815158198 will work.

The problem with that is none of my monitors have DVI on them. Only HDMI and VGA. I don't know what to do.

I have that right now, but I can't get the third monitor to work. I can get 2 to work at a time, but not 3.
