You will "run, jump, blast and transform" through side-scrolling stages "using weapons and abilities stolen from your enemies." You will look at concept art that appears to have come from a Mega Man fan art page that is obsessed with authenticity to the source material.

That's not to say that Mighty No. 9 is purely a case of Inafune ripping himself off. The Kickstarter page promises the new, un-Mega-Man-ish ability for the main character to transform parts of his body into different shapes to gain new capabilities, such as a grappling hook, magnetic limbs, or "a tank-like body." The titular character will also have the Kirby-like ability to steal capabilities from smaller enemies (not just bosses), gaining temporary benefits like speed boosts, double jumps, or massive attacks.

It's like Megaman, without Mega Man. :/

Hope it succeeds, just to put the wall to Capcom and all.
