Internet only working over ethernet. Wireless connections do not provide internet.

I'm about to effing lose it. Pardon my language OCN.

I like to think my technical level is far above that of being able to setup a wireless network, however the last few hours may have humbled (and infuriated me to the point of posting for help). I've been googling for hours, trying different routers and keep running into the same problem.

The problem: Moved into new house today, got cable (first time, used to always be DSL) setup. Came with a single modem. Have modem going into router WAN port. DHCP is ON on the router, as the modem is NOT a modem/router combo. Internet works for all across all ethernet ports, and all computers are able to connect to the router no problem, however they have no internet when doing so. Only internet access is when connected directly via ethernet.

I have tried changing / disabling security settings, attempted 3 different routers, restarted everything numerous times, but am at a loss. It's like the connection from the wireless part of the router to the modem is non-existent. I am stumped, please help!

Well, if you tried three different routers, then the issue might be on the computer trying to connect. Verify in your connection properties on the wireless connection that you don't have a static IP set. If you have the computer set to get an IP automatically, open up your command prompt and

ipconfig /all

and see what kind of results you are getting for your wireless connection. That might give us an idea of where to look next.

Sorry for the Dumb Question but did you enable the Wireless connection.. IF so Try it WITHOUT any security enabled..that will eliminate a passkey mismatch..
