Sound constantly changes levels and volume with ammount of bass, any help?

Hey folks,

So, I'm no audiophile, but I do have an intermediate understanding of what sound should and shouldn't do. When listining to music with a lot of lower level sounds (such as dubstep), the bass stays the same but the rest of the sound gets much more quiet; as an example, I was listing to Nero's Doomsday, which has a lot of bass, but there are parts of the long where there aren't any low level stuff going on. All was good until it hit those parts with no bass, then it started blaring the music extremely loud, then once the bass came in, right back to normal. It's like once there is bass to play, it lowers the volume of everything else, and its really annoying.

Hardware; Realtek ALC892 on-board sound card
Logitech Speakers
Logitech Sub woofer (sorry I can't provide more on the speakers, they were a gift)

I doubt its the speakers, because it has been doing this with headphones as well.

Yes my drivers are updated.
Yes, all things are plugged in correctly.
Yes, I don't have any kind of equalization going on in any sound settings.

Does anyone have any clue as to why it decides to scream music when there is no bass?

Check the software controls for an auto volume option, or just try turning off any other effects

Basically the low freq. is drowning out the rest of the frequencies.

Change all your EQ settings and whatnot to have less low freq. and turn off any auto-volume things. Just set it to stock basically.
