How about those new Xeons?

Thread Starter
I'm thinking about ditching my e6600 in search of lower temperatures.

Is is true that they don't need as much vcore for the higher speeds?

If you have one, please post some OCing results.

See you posted over on XS about this as well.

From your results over there, i'd say you'd be taking a big risk selling you C2D and buying a X3060 as you're not *guranteed* higher clocks/lower volts.

On the other hand, if you want to buy a X3060 and then sell the worse clocking chip that'd be fine, just depends if you've the money to buy the new one to start with.

You'd probably do better lappy and/or AS5-ing your CPU anyway.

My badly lapped D805 under a Tuniq Tower @720rpm with AS5 is only 32* at idle and 46* load. Can't beat that tbh.
