Dual PSU Question - Page 2

Damn that sucks. Yea when I have both of my 7950s at 1.25v and my overclocked CPU at 1.43v at 100% load mining the computer shuts off so I'm forced to give up CPU mining or undervolt the GPUs when I'm also CPU mining. Looks like ill have to give up on the idea of getting a third 7950. Ill just get a new PSU and get the video card whenever I get the money for it. Unless I get lucky and am able to get a new PSU for review from the company I review for.

You sould look at the Cooler Master V1000 or the EVGA SuperNova G2/P2 if you want a PSU big enough for 3 video cards

Its cheap and not very good

Not trying to be rude but you would be better off just getting a good PSU before you add more video cards

But if you only want two 7950 cards the ZT 750 watts is enough you dont need more

It's fine for pumps and fans...

TBH I don't see why you couldn't do this. I know the CX isn't a great supply, but it's hardly as system killer either, and I can't see why it wouldn't be ok it use it to run one graphics card, and the fans and pumps. Then your 750 can be used for the CPU/ other two GPUs.

Also - these adapters are worth looking at. http://www.legitreviews.com/add2psu-daisy-chain-power-supply-adapter-review_1698

I think you'd be fine meantime, till you can save for a larger/better PSU.

Edit - I can't find reviews of the 500 - but the 430 which is similar design got OK marks - not a top performer, but i'd reckon its ok for a job like this.

Thanks man (or woman? smile.gif sorry). Yea I didn't understand how a PSU would be so horrible that it couldn't even run one graphics card. Thank you very much for your answer!
