Gigabyte gtx 770 worth £100 more than gigabyte 7970 OC

Thread Starter
I recently got an email about a deal on dabs to get the Gigabyte GTX 770 (1137 clock) for £300. Currently I have the Gigabyte 7970 OCed (1000 clock), now I have the means of selling the card I have to someone for £200 meaning that the GTX 770 would really only cost me around £100. I'm having trouble deciding if this would be worth it, how much difference is there between these 2 cards? Would it be noticeable or are they pretty similar? I've seen some forums say that they benchmark almost identically but then other forums claim that the gtx has 50+ fps over the ATI. If anyone would more experience could give me there opinion on these cards that would be very helpful, thanks smile.gif.

Personally I wouldn't do it. I don't think it would be a big enough gain to make it worth the money. AMD/ATI will be coming out with the new cards soon 9xxx series...Might be worth waiting for weather you want to go Red team or Green team....might force Nvidia's prices down a bit.

Honestly, there is no real performance gain if you went for the 770. An OCed 7970 is pretty much equivalent to a 770, depending on that card's OC. It's really not worth it, in my opinion. Just my two cents.

Its not worth £100 more than either a 7970 or GTX 680, its barely any faster, and both those cards can OC to the same performance.
