CANT decide. Please help (Budget $50.00 and under)

Thread Starter

i cant decide. I need a new set of headphones but im on a limited budget due to have a newborn. I am at around 50 max and will consider used. I game only so what would you guys recommend. There are so many headphones on the market and I really want comfort but honestly there are barely any headphones that come with plush cups rather then crappy pleather.

I went to various places yesterday such as FYE, bestbuy and what not but alot of the headphones are boxed and no on display so I could not test a HUGE amount. FYE was pointless they would not let me test anything.

Sennheiser HD 419: ( ive heard theres alot of bass and at some reviews state a muddy sound)

Superlux 681's: for $32.95 shipped brand new.

Samson SAC01850 C01 Condenser Mic with SR850 Headphones which are USED but are $46.00 shipped

You can replace the Samson and Superlux pleather pads with AKG K-240/270/271 velour pads.

Hi... I have the Senn 419's (mine I got refurb ...looked new but w/out orig packaging $12~ ) anyways they are reasonably comfortable and sound pretty good. However they are really designed for portable use and have a short cord...a cord that I would have to think would be problematic for 90%+ of pc desk usage scenarios? The Cord is also laughably thin.... I have had mine for going on 1.5years and the cord has held up ...so meh I guess.

The other two you have listed are semi open... so they are going to let noise IN and OUT... i.e. if your wife/ baby are in the room they will hear you and you them..

a few other budget leaders

I own these JVC HA-RX700 and recomend them over the 419s personally... I really dig these.

http://www.amazon.com/JVC-HARX700-Precision-Sound-Headphones/dp/B0013OWPV4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1378144801&sr=1-1&keywords=HA-RX700 $40~ right now

the cord on these is very thick and is like 12ft long... which is actually kinda of two long I have the excess tied up on mine... the comfort (for me at least) is excellent the sound quality is good and gaming is very good on these headphones.
These are what I would get if i was y'all.

other popular low monies headphones

Panasonic RP-HTF600-S (have not heard these ...but have read many positive reviews)
http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-RPHTF600S-RP-HTF600-S-Stereo-Headphones/dp/B004MMEI8W/ref=pd_sim_e_4

and these monoprice dj headphones get a fair amount of praise also...

http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-108323-Premium-Hi-Fi-Headphone/dp/B007SP2CO2/ref=amtcd_B004MMEI8W_B007SP2CO2

if the issolation issues of open or semi open headphones isn't an problem for you...then these have also been getting positive reviews with the low price they have been at recently

Pioneer SE-A1000 $40~
