Speaker-specific interference buzz?

Thread Starter
So I'm having this buzzing in my speakers, but it only really comes out when I'm playing a game (i.e. the video card is working), so I imagine it's interference. Further, I get it whether I have the jack plugged into the motherboard itself or into the front, so I would guess the interference is from the on-board audio itself (VIA HD sound).
The strange part is that I don't get this noise when I use headphones. Unfortunately I can't use my headphones right now because they're so heavy there's no way to keep them from pressing down onto my head and they seem to have actually worn a bald spot into my hair (either that or I'm going bald, but I need to keep them off for now to test).

Do you think an independent sound card would help matters?

If the buzzing comes when the gpu is under heavy stress, it means that the onboard soundcard is getting bombarded with EMI.

Soundcard will help, and a EMI-shield (DIY or comes with the card) will help even more.
