New hd 7950 - straight out of the box artifacting

So herein lies my problem:

So this summer i spent 3 months of my time working in the lovely city of Toronto, Canada. Worked hard for the summer, spent a lot of time with the 10 friends i was sharing a house with (yes; 10), and generally had a great laugh and good fun.

While i was there i purchased a GIGABYTE Radeon hd 7950 from Newegg.ca, about two weeks before i was booked to fly home to Ireland. My GPU arrived about 5 days before departure, i was ecstatic, and i packaged it up and brought it home with me to install in my baby. I used foam, bubble wrap, cardboard and then foam again, and then more bubble wrap...so much so, that it took up 1/3rd of my hand luggage space.

Arrived home and installed the card, only to see black lines and white squares populating my screen - heartbroken doesn't cover it.

I've tried everything - rolling back drivers, installing beta drivers, disabling and re-enabling it from device manager, putting it in another computer, changing out the PSU, changnig which slot it's in on the motherboards....nothin'

The icing on the cake - i bought the card from Newegg using a canadian debit card, which was linked to a canadian bank account which i closed before i left. So now i have no means of being issued a refund, apart from the options of store credit for newegg (who don't deliver outside north america :-( ) or having a checque sent to the address i used to live at (which is now full of strange people i don't know). I have to say that the Newegg support tried hard to accommodate me - but it's outside the scope of their powers and totally my fault...

So now my only hope lies with the slim chance that GIGABYTE europe will honour the warranty from their north american cousins - and i'm really hoping they do because the card is beautiful and nothing deserves to be baked in an oven.

You can RMA but most likely have to pay shipping costs to Canada. Unless like you said the Gigabyte Europe will do it for you
