pauldovi is right, look at the benchmarks. 8800GTX's in SLi get 2 FPS more than a single 8800GTX. Hmm, $300 per 1 FPS extra, nice deal! I'd rather have one H20 Cooled BFG 8800GTX and OC it and have the option to go SLi in 2007/08 when there's a use for it, or just get a 9900GTX. But, it's worse to get 2x8800GTS's in SLi, your paying 900 bucks when you could get a single 8800GTX that beats SLi'd GTS's, nice.

i think SLI/Crossfire is stupid for any card but if you're getting a great deal like i did,you wouldnt pass on the opportunity either

If I could pick up 2 8800GTS for $600 I would. But then I would need a beefier PSU and a 680i motherboard. I don't trust Nforce.... Intel Core Logic FTW.

The only way I might for CrossFire/SLi is if my GPU is only one generation old yet it's still really fast and CrossFire/SLi will beat the newer generation. Example:
2xX1900XTX's vs. 1xX1950XTX
OR
2x7900GTX's vs. 1x7950.
